Chile: Representative Jigme Tsering of the Central Tibetan Administration and of H.H. the Dalai Lama for Latin America went on a visit to Chile on November 6 and 7.
On Sunday the 6th, he met with Buddhists and members of the Friends of Tibet Chile group, belonging to the International Tibet Network, whose purpose is to support the Tibetan cause.
On the following day, in the morning, he met with the mayor of the Commune of Renca, Claudio Castro, and in the afternoon, he went to the Valparaíso Congress where he had the opportunity to share with several deputies, among whom was the newly elected President of the Chamber of Deputies, Vlado Mirosevic.
In each of the meetings, Jigme Tsering explained the current situation in Tibet and the difficulties he has with the Chinese government, to later answer queries on the same topic. He also distributed the book “Los Latinoamericanos y el Tíbet” by the Uruguayan writer Aloma Sellanes and the book “Tibet’s Stolen Child” that recalls the story of the 11th Panchen Lama, who was kidnapped, along with his family, by the government.
