As per resolution no 2016/16/1/5 (9) of the 1st session of the 16th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament has appointed the members of the committee to initiate reforms in the Tibetan electoral process on 14 June 2016.
The committee has duly begun its functions from 20 June 2016, and invites suggestions and recommendations from the Tibetan public for amendments in the Tibetan electoral rules and regulation. The suggestions and recommendations must be submitted to the Tibetan Parliamentary Secretariat with the signature and address of the person before 05:00 PM, 31 August 2016.
The suggestions and recommendations should be focused on the following two premises:
- Amendments in the Tibetan electoral rules and regulation keeping in mind the difficulties faced during the recent election for Sikyong and Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile.
- Requirement of individuals or organisations to propose nominees for Sikyong and Tibetan parliamentary elections in future.
