Dharamshala: The 5th Project Coordination Committee (PCC) meeting for the USAID-funded CTA-Capacity Building and Sustainability Initiative (CBSI) program was held at the Kashag Secretariat in Gangchen Kyishong with the presence of Sikyong Penpa Tsering and Kalon (Minister) Norzin Dolma from the Department of Information and International Relations on 18 January 2024.
The CTA-CBSI program aims to strengthen CTA’s leadership and planning and improve the management systems of CTA and settlement institutions.
This day-long meeting was also attended by the representatives from USAID/India Balaka Dey, Development Assistance Specialist, and Radharani Thakuria, Project Management Specialist, along with Central Tibetan Administration’s Department Secretaries, Additional Secretaries, staff members of the Social Resource Development Fund (SARD), and partners from various organisations.
In the second half of the day, SARD convened a roundtable discussion focused on exploring digital program coordination among CTA implementing partners and enhancing digital security for CTA. The discussion included representatives from the Secretary of the Public Service Commission (PSC), Secretary of the Department of Finance, Additional Secretary of the Department of Religion and Culture, The Tibet Fund (TTF), National Democratic Institute (NDI), Zeropoint, Tibetan Computer Resource Center (TCRC), Monlam IT, Wadhwani AI, and Tibet Action Institute (TAI). Following this discussion, another roundtable discussion on the Settlement Improvement Plan (SIP), Settlement-based Economic Development and Tourism Development, and Cooperative Improvement Plan took place. Representatives from the Department of Home, the Department of Education, the Department of Health, TTF, and NDI participated in this discussion.
The semi-annual PCC meetings provide opportunities for members to validate and confirm program direction, activity development, and ensure ongoing collaboration. PCC meetings remain one of the few opportunities for cross-CTA discussion and collaboration at the leadership level.
