DHARAMSHALA: A six-day meeting on Tibetan text books for class V and VI is  underway from 21 -26 April, at the College for Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarha.

The meeting is being organised by the department of education to standardise text book for Tibetan Primary schools, in accordance with the Basic Education Policy of Central Tibetan Administration. Tibetan text books till class III have already been standardised.

Participants in the meeting include Education Officer Mr. Tsering Samdup, former Additional Secretary Mr. Tashi Dhondup, Mr. Ngodup Tempa and members of the text book editorial section.

The education department aims to complete the textbook standardisation process by the end of this year. The textbooks will be issued to Tibetan schools from academic year 2015.
