Prayer for Karmapa on Holy 15th Day of Saka
Dharamsala, 2 June: The Committee of Pal Gyalwa Karmapa’s Dhungdrub Puja will hold a Congregational Recitation of One Hundred Million Mantra Prayer tomorrow on the fifteenth day of holy fourth month of Saka. The prayer was first started in 1983 with the formation of the committee by the heart-sons of the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa to ‘cleanse the negativities of his disciples and to ensure the swift return of Gyalwa Karmapa’s seventeenth reincarnation’.
The prayer then began to be performed for His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Gyalwa Karmapa for their long life and fulfilment of their wishes, for the flowering of their Dharma activities, for the benefit all sentient beings and for world peace.
Through the grace of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and particularly that of Tai Situ Rinpoche and Gyaltsab Rinpoche of Rumtek Monastery, and that of many other high lamas of all sects and above all by the kindness of Indian Government Gyalwa Karmapa is able to reside in India, said an announcement issued by the committee.
The committee is holding this prayer ceremony tomorrow to remove all obstacles that have blocked the return of the 17th Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorjee to Rumtek monastery in Sikkim.
