Polish City Confers Honorary Citizenship on His Holiness

Dharamshala: The president of
the southwest city of Wroclaw in Poland Monday has conferred the city’s
honorary citizenship on His Holiness the Dalai Lama, IANS reported.
President Rafal Dutkiewicz lauded His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s struggle for peace for his people.
“The Dalai Lama has made tremendous efforts to keep the struggle
going in face of a ruthless regime for the freedom of his people for
five decades. Every lover of freedom and human rights should salute
him. It is our privilege to confer upon him honorary citizenship of our
city-Wroclaw,” said the city president.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama is expected to go to Wroclaw next year to accept the honorary citizenship.
