Paonta: As part of the celebration marking the 90th birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and the Year of Compassion, the Paonta Cholsum Regional Ghoton Organising Committee conducted a prayer service on 11 February 2026, coinciding with the auspicious day of White Wednesday.

From 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, members of the local Tibetan community gathered at the Paonta Cholsum community prayer hall to participate in collective prayers. During the programme, recitation and accumulation of Mani and Tara mantras were carried out, with prayers offered for the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the fulfilment of all his noble aspirations.

The prayer service was organised as part of the long-life offering programme being observed by the settlement in honour of His Holiness.
