The Tibetan Youth Congress offered long life prayers (Tenshug) for His Holiness the Dalai Lama on Wednesday, 14 January, the concluding day of a week-long teaching near Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies in Sarnath, India. More than 20,000 Buddhist devotees from across the world attended His Holiness’s teaching series on “Kamalashila’s “The Middling Stages of Meditation” and Shantideva’s “A Guide To the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life”. His Holiness will next visit Jamia Millia Islamia University (JMI) in New Delhi on 17 January, where he is scheduled to inaugurate and give a key-note address on “Global Congress World’s Relgions After September 11 – An Asian Perspective”. During the conference, participants, including Prof Mushirul Hasan, vice chancellor, JMI, Prof Arvind Sharma, Prof Madhu Khanna, convenors, and Kalon Tripa Prof Samdhong Rinpoche, will participate in planery sessions on Asian way of resolving religious conflict and role of interfaith dialogue.
