
Dharamshala: On 28 December 2025, Parliamentarians Geshe Lharampa Gowo Lobsang Phende, Geshe Lharampa Atuk Tseten, and Choephel Thupten attended the inauguration of the Great Non-Sectarian Conference on Acharya Shantideva’s Bodhicaryavatara and on the Noble and Sacred Deeds of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The conference was held at Drepung Losel Ling Monastery in Karnataka, South India.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by the presence of the 105th Gaden Tripa; Shri Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs of India; Shri Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri, Member of the Indian Parliament; Kyabje Ling Rinpoche; Kyabje Samdhong Rinpoche; the Khen Rinpoche of Losel Ling Monastery; Kalon Gyari Dolma of the Department of Security, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA); a representative of the Kalon of the Department of Religion and Culture (CTA); Shri Shivaram Hebbar, MLA from Karnataka; Geshe Lobsang Tenzin Negi (PhD); along with senior monks, monks, and members of the general public.
With the portrait of His Holiness the Dalai Lama seated at the throne, the event commenced with the Gaden Tripa lighting the butter lamp, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony by the Gaden Tripa and Shri Kiren Rijiju in honour of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 90th birth anniversary.
The programme featured speeches by the Gaden Tripa, Shri Kiren Rijiju, Shri Vishwar Hegre Kageri, Kalon Gyari Dolma, Kyabje Ling Rinpoche, Kyabje Samdhong Rinpoche, Shri Shivaram Hebbar, the Khen Rinpoche of Losel Ling Monastery, and Geshe Lobsang Tenzin Negi (PhD). The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Chagzoe of the monastery.
Guests were presented with commemorative souvenirs of the Great Non-Sectarian Conference marking His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 90th birth anniversary, followed by cultural performances and a poem recital.
