
DHARAMSHALA: The Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile will visit US and Brussels from 4 – 18 July.
Mr Penpa Tsering, the speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, will attend an event on the occasion of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 76th birthday celebrations in Washington, DC, on 6 July.
The Speaker will attend His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s meeting with US House Speaker John Boehner on 7 July. He is expected to meet with congressional leaders the next day.
On 9 July, he will attend a public talk by His Holiness the Dalai Lama titled “A Talk for World Peace” to be held at the West Lawn of the US Capitol.
The Speaker will be in Brussels on 11 July to attend a working group meeting of International Network of Parliamentarians for Tibet (INPaT).
He will be back in Washington, DC, on 12 July, to continue his visit. He will attend the Kalachakra Initiation by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and meet with congressional leaders. He will join Kalon Tripa elect, Dr Lobsang Sangay, to give a public address to the Tibetans in Washington, DC, on 12 July. He is also expected to meet with the Tibetan public in New York on 17 July before leaving for Bangalore the next day.
