DHARAMSHALA: The Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile today expressed deep sadness over the last week’s shooting rampage in the US which left 26 people, mostly schoolchildren, dead.
Deputy Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel in his letter to Joseph Lieberman, US Senator from Connecticut, said: “The Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile expresses its deep anguish and concern at the growing number of shooting incidents in the United States. We share our sorrow with the victims and family members of the latest shooting at Connecticut and pray for them. As a strong supporter of Tibet, we share your concern as the incident happened in your constituency.
“We hope your authorities will take stringent measures to avoid incident of this nature in future that victimizes innocent lives,” the letter noted.
