DHARAMSHALA: The Tibetan Voluntary Health Association in collaboration with Taiwan dental association, Taiwan health CO-OP organisation and Cathy general hospital, organised oral health education and screening camps in STS (Sambhota) Schools in Bir, Chauntra and Dharamsala from 15 to 18 July.
A team of 10 dentists and nurses from Taiwan headed by Dr Huang carried out the camp in the above mentioned schools with an objective to improve the overall oral health of school children. The students were screened with the urgent cases being treated at Bir health centre and scaling was done in schools along with oral health education and distribution of tooth brushes in the schools.
Similar camps will be organised at Tibetan schools in Shimla, Dalhousie and Dharamsala in November 2013, said a dealing staff of the health department of the Central Tibetan Administration.
