Taipei: The Office of Tibet and the Tibetan community in Taiwan jointly organised a prayer service on 24 August 2022 at the former’s prayer hall as per the instructions from CTA’s Department of Religion and Culture.
The two-hour-long prayer service was held to abate the ongoing natural and artificial calamities inside Tibet, especially the recent Covid surge that saw enhanced restrictions on mobility. The prayer service, attended by 33 devotees consisting of 24 monks and nine lay people, including Representative Kelsang Gyaltsen Bawa, was also conducted for the security and wellbeing of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan peoples.
During the tea recess, Representative Kelsang Gyaltsen Bawa highlighted the indispensability of unity and cooperation amongst Tibetans for a quick resolution of Tibet cause amidst rising disharmony within the Chinese leadership, which led to the deteriorated economy and distrusted citizens causing unrest countrywide. Additionally, the Representative also apprised the congregation about His Holiness’ vision of building harmonious relations between interfaith in Taiwan while briefing the office’s undertakings at the same time.
