Taiwan: The Office of Tibet in Taiwaing during the month of March and April coordinated a series of religious activities with the arrival of Sakya Kyabgon Gongma Trichen and 42nd Ratna Vajra Rinpoche on 29 March for month-long religious engagements.
CTA Kalon Norzin Dolma and Secretary Karma Choeying who were then on a week-long official visit to Taiwan received an audience with the supreme head of the Sakya school.
On 3 April, Sakya Gongma Rinpcohe gave Avalokiteshvara Empowerment to a gathering of Tibetans and Taiwanese devotees. The Tibetan association in Taiwan jointly with the Office of Tibet offered mandel tensum to Sakya Gongma Trichen Rinpoche.
Similarly, in January, Kyabje Jonang Gyaltsab Rinpoche visited Taiwan to impart teaching to devotees. In April, Kyabje Gosok Rinpoche visited Taiwan for religious engagements. Rinpoche also visited the Office of Tibet there and met with Representative Bawa who apprised Ricpoche of the ongoing activities and programs implemented by the office. The next day, Rinpcohe gave 21 Tara and Palden Lhamo Empowerments to hundreds of devotees. At the teaching, Representative Bawa met with representatives of various religious associations and discussed future collaborations with them to expand Tibetan culture and religion in Taiwan.
On 14 April, Abbot Tashi Tsethar of Sera Jey monastery in South India arrived in Taiwan for month-long religious activities and to discuss the current situation of Tibetan Buddhism in Taiwan. As part of this month-long religious activities, the Office of Tibet is initiating an introduction to the Tibetan Buddhism project in Tainan. For this purpose and for future religious programs, Representative Bawa met with the Deputy Governor of Tainan, Tse-Shan Yen to discuss in detail joint initiatives in the future.
