São Paulo, Brasil: To mark His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 88th birthday on 6 July, a special tour called “Connection with Compassion” is being organised throughout Latin America to disperse His Holiness’ teaching of compassion.
The “Connection with Compassion” tour, led by Representative Jigme Tsering kicked off on Sunday, 2 July at Dri-Kyung Kagyue in Santiago, Chile. For the next two-weeks, celebrations will be held at Yamantaka Centre in Bogota, Mexico Casa Tibet in Mexico City, Asociacion Cultural Tibetano Costarricense in San Jose, Buenos Aires in Argentina, Thabshe Dargyeling in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, RangZen: Movimento Tibete Livre in Natal, Brazil, and concluding at Tibet House Brazil in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The tour will provide opportunities for individuals to engage with the principles of compassion and discover practical ways to incorporate them into their lives. This month-long celebration serves as a call to action, inviting everyone to commit themselves to the practice of compassion, both during the tour and beyond.

The commencement of “Connection with Compassion” tour at Drikung Kagyu in San Tiago brought together dignitaries, Tibetan Buddhist followers, and members of TSG Amigos Del Tibet. The event commenced with an introduction to the Latin tour, emphasizing the significance of compassion in the teachings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
As part of the celebration, a cake cutting ceremony was held to mark the joyous occasion of His Holiness’s 88th birth anniversary.
