Around 70 attendees, including Secretary of the Office of Tibet, former Tibetan parliamentarians based in Kathmandu, Tibetan Settlement Officers, President of the Local Tibetan Assembly, President of the Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement, heads of the local Tibetan schools and monasteries, and representatives of the Tibetan NGOs attended the book launch.
Professor Redo Sangay from the Kirti Monastery introduced the textbook before the gathering after it was launched by distinguished guests.
In his address, chief guest Chuwar Kuntse Rinpoche underscored the need for collective efforts from Tibetan administrations and the general public to preserve and promote the unique Tibetan tradition and religion. He also encouraged monks and nuns to further Buddhist studies and render social services for the benefit of others.
Representative Tsepri Lopan Tulku stated that it is the directive of the Department of Religion and Culture, CTA, to incorporate the Losel Gyulgyen textbook into the monastic school’s curriculum.
