
DHARAMSHALA: The Tibet House, Brazil, will serve as the Office of Tibet for the continent of South America from 1 April 2015, according to a notification from the Kashag Secretariat of the Central Tibetan Administration.
Till now, a liaison office based with the Office of Tibet, North America, in the United States, handled all South America related activities. However, in the last two years, there had been considerable deliberations to establish a separate office of Tibet for South America. Hence, the new Office of Tibet is being established, the notification said.
Mr. Tsewang Phuntso, the current Liaison officer for Latin America, will be the Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, at the new Office of Tibet based in Brazil.
