Brussels: The Office of Tibet, Brussels, hosted a luncheon meeting with close friends and members of Tibet Interest Group in the European Parliament today. The meeting holds profound significance as the current Parliament gives way to the next Parliament in May. Many of the friends who came for the meeting has been involved with Tibet for many years, some for few decades. There was also a mix of MEPs from different political groups.
Led by MEP Mann, EPP, MEP Sogor, EPP, MEP Geringer de Oedenberg, S&D, MEP Sojdrova, EPP, MEP Griesbeck, ALDE, MEP Tokes, EPP and MEP Tremosa, ALDE. They were joined by staff of the Office of Tibet led by Representative Tashi Phuntsok.
The meeting was held to express gratitude to the Parliamentarians for being so committed to Tibet’s cause. Though many may not be entering the fray, it was hope that those who would, would be back again to re-establish a Tibet group as token of which, every MEP was offered traditional Tibetan scarf.
