
Dharamshala: This afternoon, 9 December 2025, the leadership and staff of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) held a prayer service to mourn the demise of staff Tamding Tsering, who passed away earlier this morning after a prolonged illness at the age of 41. For over a decade, he served diligently as a peon across various departments of the CTA, both as a daily wager and later as a permanent staff. The Central Tibetan Administration expresses its deepest condolences on his passing.
Brief Bio:
Tamding Tsering was born on 31 December 1983 in Dharamshala to parents Tengo and Kalsang Choedon. He completed his secondary education at Upper TCV School, Dharamshala.
He began serving the Central Tibetan Administration on 1 March 2015 as a daily wager at the Tibetan Parliamentary Secretariat. After two years, on 17 April 2017, he joined the Kashag Secretariat in the same capacity, continuing there until 21 November 2023.
On 22 November 2023, he was appointed as a probationary staff at the Kashag Secretariat. Less than a year later, on 25 June 2024, he was confirmed as a permanent staff and continued to serve as a peon at the Kashag Secretariat.
He was placed on special medical leave from 19 November 2025.
Tamding Tsering passed away on 9 December 2025 at 12:14 a.m at the age of 41 years old.
