Nyingma School of Tibetan Buddhism offers Tenshug to His Holiness

Dharamshala: The Nyingma Tenshug Committee led by Kyabje Trulshig Rinpoche presented a long life prayer offering to His Holiness the Dalai Lama at a ceremony held yesterday morning at Tsuglagkhang.
His Holiness graced the ceremony at around 8 o’clock following which long-life prayer offerings began.
A group of five monks representing Dakinis presented ritual dance performance during the ceremony.

Addressing the ceremony, His Holiness said traditionally the Taklung Dorjee Drak Monastery has a unique relationship since during the reign of the Great Fifth Dalai Lama.
The pure bond of commitment and devotion will work for our common cause and truth will prevail, said His Holiness.
As implored many times by Kyabje Trulshig Rinpoche, His Holiness said he prays to live several more decades, if it is for the cause of Buddhism and sentient beings.

Devotees from Bhutan, Nepal and Sikkim were also present to offer long life prayer offerings to His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
Among prominent lamas, trulkus and representatives of Nyingma monasteries from India and abroad present at the ceremony were Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche, Dilgo Khentse Rinpoche, Dujom Rinpoche, Abbot of Mindroling Monastery and others.
Also present at the ceremony were dignitaries of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) including Chief Supreme Justice Commissioner and the two Justice Commissioners of the Tibetan Supreme Justice Commission, Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile (TPIE), Kalons, Auditor General, members of TPIE and officials of the CTA.
