Dharamshala: The incumbent general secretary of the Tibetan Homes Foundation in Mussoorie has been appointed the justice commissioner of the Central Tibetan Administration.
Ngawang Phegyal’s nomination for one of the two justice commissioners of the Tibetan Supreme Justice Commission was approved by the Assembly of the Tibetan People’s Deputies today morning on the opening of its 10th session.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama nominated Phegyal from a list of candidates recommended by a five-member committee formed by the Chief-Justice Commissioner, Chairperson and Vice-chair of the Assembly and the Kalon Tripa.
The new justice commissioner succeeds Lobsang Khedup Dongritsang, who resigned from July this year.
