New Deputies of the Tibetan Assembly Sworn In

Dharamshala: The 43 new elected members of the 14th Assembly of the Tibetan People’s Deputies (ATPD) took oath of office today from the interim Chairman of the ATPD.
Before the Assembly oath taking ceremony, Deputy Karma Choephel sworn in as an interim Chairman of the ATPD before the Chief Justice Commissioner of the Tibetan Supreme Justice Commission, Namgyal Tsering Dralnang.
Mr. Karma Choephel was earlier elected as one of the deputies from U-Tsang Province in the Tibetan Assembly.
This afternoon a new Chair and Vice-Chair of the Assembly will be elected by deputies amongst themselves.
The first session of the 14 ATPD begins from 1 June.
