New Chief Justice Commissioner and Justice Commissioner Appointed
Dharamsala 13 September: In the latest development in the Tibetan judicial system, Mr. Namgyal Tsering Dralnang, one of the two Justice Commissioners of the Tibetan Supreme Justice Commission, will succeed Mr. Jhadur Sangpo as the new Chief Justice Commissioner. Mr. Anyertsang Thupten Tashi, Secretary of Department of Religion and Culture, has been appointed the new Justice Commissioner.
As laid down in the Charter of the exile Tibetans, the Chief Justice Commissioner, Chairperson and the Vice Chairperson of the Assembly of the Tibetan People’s Deputies, and the Kalon Tripa shall install a five member committee which shall submit a list of nominees for the posts of Chief Justice Commissioner and the Justice Commissioners to His Holiness the Dalai Lama who shall propose a candidate to the assembly for approval
