NDPT General Body Meeting Begins

Dharamsala, 17 May: Members from over 30 different places have participated in the annual meeting of the National Democratic Party of Tibet which opened on Saturday here at the conference hall of the Dauladhar Hotel, Dharamsala.
Mr. Sonam Topgyal, Former Kalon Tripa and Mr. Tenzin Samphel, Vice President of the Tibetan Youth Congress, addressed the inaugural ceremony. Also present were some members of the Assembly of the Tibetan People’s Deputies in their individual capacity and representatives of the non-governmental organisations.
“… the meeting will deliberate upon the ten selected issues and pass resolutions on the final day. Among the most important of these topics are the promotions of democracy in the Tibetan community and the role of political parties in the future election of the members of the Assembly of Tibetan People’s Deputies and Kalon Tripa. The meeting will also elect new executive members of the party, who will act upon the resolutions passed during this meeting,” said Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok, president of the NDPT.
The meeting concludes on 17 May.
