Nagpur-based Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch members in Dharamsala

Dharamsala (TibetNet): Today Mr. Ashok Mandey, President of the Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch (BTSM) in Nagpur and his team comprising about 10 members met Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche, Kalon Tripa of the Central Tibetan Administration.
Yesterday they met Gyari Dolma, Vice-chair of the Assembly of the Tibetan People’s Deputies (ATPD), and discussed collective working of the BTSM and the ATPD and to strengthen the Indo-Tibetan friendship.
Geshe Thubten Phegyal and Mr. Sunil Manocha also joined the meeting as members of the Himalchal-based BTSM.
They had meetings with Kelsang Phuntsok, President of the Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC), and the Tibetan Women’s Association (TWA) yesterday afternoon.
Mr. Mandey is an old friend of Tibetans. He is founder of the Nagpur-based Indo-Tibetan Friendship Society and was also its former president. He was the one who initiated All India Tibet Support Group meeting in Nagpur in December 1995.
Mr. Mandey and his companion are new Buddhist and they feel supporting the cause of Tibet is their responsibility.
During their 2-day stay in Dharamsala, the group will also visit the Tibetan Children’s Village (TCV), the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives (LTWA), the Tibetan Medical and Astro Institure (TMAI), the Tibet Musuem and the Tibet Reception Centre for the new arrivals.
In another programme, coordinated by the Department of Information and International Relations, called Action for Life- a programme of moral re-armament (MRA), there are 10 participants from four different countries.
The 10 participants comprised of 8 students and 2 teachers accompanied by two Tibetan volunteers at the MRA- Initiative of Change programme.
During their stay to Dharamsala, they will tour around the LTWA, the TMAI, the Nobulinka Institute, the TCV, the Sherab Gatsel Lobling (Transit school), and the Tibet museum.
They will also get opportunity to meet with president of the Gu-Chu-Sum, association of former political prisoners, presidents of the TYC and the TWA.
