
Dharamshala, 2 March 2026: The 17th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile today welcomed a new member to its fifth Standing Committee representing Domey Province, along with the allocation of responsibilities across its respective sections.
Parliamentarian Karma Gelek formally joined the Standing Committee, replacing Parliamentarian Tsaneytsang Dhondup Tashi. A formal ceremony was held at the Library-cum-Standing Committee Hall, where the new member was warmly received by Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel and fellow Standing Committee members.
In accordance with Clause VI of the Standing Committee’s Rules and Regulations under the Rules and Regulations of the Central Tibetan Administration, the newly appointed member was allocated to Zinkyong Tokship Deytsen (Administration). The remaining members of the Standing Committee continue in their roles without change.
