Miao: On 9 December 2025, in honour of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s 90th Birthday, this year has been designated as the Year of Compassion. The Ghoton Committee of Miao Tibetan Settlement, with the support of the settlement community, distributed dry ration, blankets, and clothing to the residents of Dharmapur Village 1, 2 and 3, nearby Miao as many individuals from economically disadvantaged backgrounds face shortages of food, clothing, and blankets during the winter season.

The purpose of this donation was briefly explained to the Dharmapur village community members, and they were happy that the settlement is doing its utmost to support economically vulnerable families in honour of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
