
Brussels 10 July, 2014: Members of European Parliament, parliamentary assistants of MEPs, foreign diplomats, officials of EU institutions, Representatives of Tibetan Buddhist centers in Belgium, President of Belgian Tibetan community and Tibetan NGOs, Tibet support Groups, attended a reception hosted by the Office of Tibet to celebrate the 79th birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama at Alberta hall in Brussels, on 10 July.
The birthday celebration began with long life prayers for His Holiness the Dalai Lama by Motok Tulku and Ven. Lama Tseten Phuntsok.
Representative Mr. Ngodup Dorjee welcomed the guests and read out the message of Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay on the occasion of the 79th Birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
MEP Mr. Thomas Mann, Member of European Parliament wished His Holiness long life not only for the Tibetans but for the peace and well being of all humanity. Mr. Mann, in his speech, said that he will take initiative to continue the Tibet Intergroup in the newly elected European parliament and will continue to work for the cause of Tibet.
Mr. Henri Malosse, the President of European Economic and Social Committee, also spoke during the function. He wished His Holiness a very long life and shared his experience during his personal audience with His Holiness in March 2014 in Dharamsala.
Nangma cultural troupe delighted the guests with enchanting traditional Tibetan dances.
