
Dharamshala: Three members of the German Parliament (Bundestag) namely Margaret Bause, Maria Klein-Schmeink, and Claudia Roth, Vice President of the German Parliament, extended their greetings to congratulate Sikyong Penpa Tsering on his election victory, and reaffirmed their continuous support and solidarity with the Tibetan people.
In their congratulatory letter dated 1 July, they wrote:
“We congratulate you on your election as President of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile and wish you great strength and success in the tasks ahead of you. With your election, Tibetans worldwide associate great hopes. At the same time, the challenges have never been greater.”
“Whether it is the attempt to resume a dialogue between the Chinese government and representatives of the Dalai Lama, the regulation of his succession or the restoration of
basic civil and human rights of the Tibetan population.”
“We wish you all the best in your activities aimed at finding a “Middle Way” and assure you and Tibetans worldwide of our solidarity and support.”
