Marching for Tibet from Bologna to Florence
30 June, 2001: Hundreds of people and a wide number of associations will participate in the march in support of the Tibetan cause
From June 30th to July 6th we will march at the Tibetan exiles and refugees’ side to claim freedom and justice for people oppressed by a fierce dictatorship, and to assert their right to self-determination. Personalities of the culture world and show business, local politicians and administrators, lays and religious will be with us.
We all share the desire to express solidarity to the Tibetan pacific struggle; we are all determined to ask the Institutions to intervene with the government of Peking so that it will immediately open negotiations with Dalai Lama and his Government in Exile, to put an end to the Tibetan people’s drama.
Every stage will show an event which will recall the sacrifice of those who fought for the assertion of human rights in Tibet and China.
Every evening we will offer you an occasion to meet a culture and a spirituality nowadays denied by a regime that has been illegally occupying the Country for 50 years.
When we will arrive to Florence, an international meeting directed by Fosco Mariani, would end the week that we hope will be of great presence. Therefore, we ask every person who struggles for the freedom of Tibet, to be a follower of the initiative and to support the march with every means, even with your own testimony.
