LTWA releases a semiannual Hindi Journal- Botvani [Wednesday, 7 July 2010, 4:15 p.m.]

Library of Tibetan Works and Archives released a semiannual Hindi
journal named Botvani on Tuesday evening on the occasion of 75th birth
anniversary of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala.Geshe
Lhakdor, director of the library in his opening speech said, relations
between Indians and Tibetans is one of teacher and student relation.
This relationship goes back many centuries. Geshe Lhakdor recounted His
Holiness the Dalai Lama’s saying that Tibetans are the reliable
students of India for keeping the Buddha’s teachings. Kalon
Tripa Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche launched the journal in presence of the
editor of the journal Raji Raman, Kalon Tsering Phuntsok of the
Department Religion and Culture, Kalon Thupten Lungrig of Department of
Education, Professor P.N. Sharma of Dharamsala University, Mr. Manocha
of Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch, UCO Bank manager, library staff and
reporters in Dharamsala. Kalon Tripa said this launch of the
journal in Hindi language is a movement to promote Buddhism and Hindi
language. Kalon Tripa said this journal should be a research resource
so a student can find the resource even after 100 years of its
publication.Kalon Tripa conveyed his best wishes to the editor
Raji Raman, Mr Jampa Dawa and Mr Tsering Gyalpo for their sincere and
dedicated efforts in bringing out this journal. Raji Raman in
her briefing said “I always thought it is our fortune to have His
Holiness the Dalai Lama in India and the presence of His Holiness is
not less than the presence of the Buddha himself” Raji Raman appreciated the endeavours of Geshe Lhakdor in successfully launching the journal to reach out the Indian readers.
