
PARIS: A three-week exhibition on Tibet titled “Long Look Homweward” opened yesterday (3 December) at the Mediatheque, the Library of the Municipality of Montoire sur le Loire, a small town in central France.

The exhibition was inaugurated in the presence of the local dignitaries including the President of Council General (local municipality council), the Mayor, the Director of the Library and over a 100 local French citizens.
“Tibet: A story of a Tragedy”, a film on recent history of Tibet starting from the Chinese invasion and ensuing political repression and destruction of Tibetan culture and religion, was screened following the official inaugural of the exhibition.
Tsering Dhondup, Secretary of Bureau du Tibet, represented the Tibetans at the inaugural ceremony and spoke on the current situation inside Tibet and responded to the questions from the audience after the screening of the film.
Around 30 panels depicting Tibet’s past before the China’s invasion, the invasion, resistance, destruction, Sinicisation and the flight to exile of His Holiness the Dalai Lama followed by hundreds of thousands of Tibetan is were displayed in the exhibition. Long Look Homeward is a work of the Tibet Museum of the Department of Information & International Relations based in Dharamsala and the panels have been rendered into French by the Bureau du Tibet, Paris.
The exhibition will end on 21 December 2013.
