Long Life Prayers Have Come True, Says Kalon Tripa
Dharamshala 9 June 2005: After an extensive series of prayers for the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama culminating in the long life offering yesterday, the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) today said that His Holiness has said that the prayers would come true.
“I always think that when Tibet is at such a critical juncture, it will not do if I do not live”, His Holiness said yesterday.
Speaking at a press conference, Kalon Tripa Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche also said that the official oracles–Nechung, Gadong, Che-nga and Yudon-ma, who made long life offering to His Holiness at the ceremony yesterday– have strongly emphasised support for the path of Middle-Way Approach to resolve the Tibetan issue as wished by His Holiness.
The oracles also emphasised the need to honour the commitment of the bond between His Holiness and his disciples and with the religious leaders, Kalon Tripa said.
The grand long life offering (Tenshug) to His Holiness the Dalai Lama organised by the CTA yesterday marked the beginning of a year long celebration of His Holiness’ 70 birthday.
As an expression of gratitude and devotion to His Holiness for his leadership, Tibetans throughout the world will celebrate the 70th birthday of His Holiness through a series of religious, social, education and health programmes.
