Dharamshala: The 15th Kashag led by the outgoing Sikyong Dr Lobsang Sangay received a virtual audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama this morning.
In the 30 minutes virtual audience, His Holiness spoke for the first twenty minutes with former Sikyong Dr Lobsang Sangay followed by 10 minutes of interaction with the Kalons of 15th Kashag.
His Holiness expressed his appreciation to the outgoing Sikyong and Kalons of the 15th Kashag for their service, particularly lauding Dr. Lobsang Sangay for his commendable ten years of service to the cause of Tibet.
“Lobsang Sangay did a commendable work these past ten years,” His Holiness remarked and urged the outgoing Sikyong and Kalons to continue to offer their service to the Tibetan cause.
As the revival of ancient Indian wisdom remains one of His Holiness’ four principal commitments, His Holiness remarked that he’s entrusted Dr Lobsang Sangay to take on more responsibility towards this endeavour.
He re-affirmed once again to live for more than 110 years with the hope and aspiration to serve the Tibetan interest, and humanity at large. “If I live long, it will be of benefit to the Tibetans inside and outside of Tibet.”
Despite the physical constraints of travels, His Holiness promised to engage virtually from his residence in regards to giving teachings and talks.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama presented a statue of Buddha each to Sikyong Dr Lobsang Sangay and his Kashag: Kalon Ven Karma Gelek Yuthok, Kalon Sonam Topgyal Khorlatsang, Kalon Karma Yeshi, Kalon Dr Pema Yangchen, Kalon Phagpa Tsering Labrang, Kalon Choekyong Wangchuk.
