Dharamshala: 21 young women staff of the Central Tibetan Administration are attending a four-day leadership workshop organized by the Social and Development Fund of the Department of Finance from 25 to 28 October in Dharamsala. The workshop is funded by the Norwegian Church Aid. Kalon Tsering Dhondup, Kalon of the Department of Finance in his keynote address, said 21 participants are the young ones to be the future leaders. He said, Tibetan women have important role in our community and they have always had equal rights and responsibilities in Tibet in the past and in exile. He said the Kashag has recognized the significance of the involvement of women in every field of community building. He said, the participant women staff have the capacity that needs to be flowered. Resource persons during workshop are Ms Lynda Ongel Lepcha and Ms Mary Ongel Lepcha. Ms Lynda is a leadership trainer from Holistic Training Solutions in New Delhi and she has 20 years of experience of training leaders from Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal and the United States. Ms Rani is Mental Health Counsellor from US. Ms Linda said “ Leadership is about the purpose in your life” for which the participants will have to work for. Ms Tenzin Tseyang of the organizing team said, because there is rise in the number of women civil servants in Central Tibetan Administration and there is need for further development of their leadership qualities. Leading self, leading others and leading team are the main topics this workshop covers. Mr Dawa Dorjee, Secretary, Department of Finance and Mr Wangdu Tsering, Joint Secretary of Department of Finance were also present on the opening day of the workshop.
