LEH, Ladakh: The general council of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh, passed a unanimous resolution on 21 December calling on the government of India to confer Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian medal, on His Holiness the Dalai Lama for his lifelong effort to bring peace in the world.

The resolution was passed during the two-day review session of the General Council of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh that began on Wednesday, 21 December. The resolution was moved by Mr Jamyang Tsering Namgyal and supported by Mr Tsering Angchuk.
