Dharamshala: On the 85th birthday occasion of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Rigo Tulku Rinpoche, Head of the Nyingma Monlam Committee offered his greetings and gratitude.
“His Holiness’ escape into exile was indeed a tragic event, however, despite that, it has turned into a blessing in disguise for the Tibetans and his followers around the world,” Rinpoche said in a video message.
He added, “Due to his unrelenting effort and dedication vis a vis, the support of the Indian government, today the Tibetan refugee community has reached a successful milestone.
For that, I offer my deep obeisance to His Holiness and would like to extend my heartfelt greetings to him on his 85th birthday.
For the last 61 years, we Tibetans have been living comfortably in exile because of the hard work of the elder generation but most importantly because of the glorious legacy of His Holiness and so we must never forget his kindness.
Under the leadership of His Holiness, we have been given a golden opportunity to protect and revive the rich and unique Tibetan culture and religion that were essentially destroyed by the CCP.
Not only Tibetan Buddhism was restored but His Holiness has successfully promoted its values around the world. He has widely spread the values of compassion, tolerance, and peace without any bias and prejudice which earned him Nobel Prize in 1989.
Because of his concrete stand for religious harmony, there is an amicable and unity between the different Tibetan religious sects.
It is our responsibility and duty to follow his teachings and guidance in daily practice. This is the only way we can offer our gratitude and this is the most appropriate gift for him.
I conclude my message with prayers for his long life and success and fulfillments to all his wishes”. Watch the video here.
