Dharamshala: The Department of Education, CTA, is pleased to announce that the Korea Tibetan Buddhist Welfare Association, South Korea, is offering scholarships for three Tibetan refugee students to pursue a four-year undergraduate program at Dongguk University in Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province.
The scholarship covers tuition fees, living expenses, and dormitory costs. However, selected candidates will have to bear the airfare.
The selected students will be required to study a one-year Korean Language course prior to the four-year undergraduate program in Korea as the medium of instruction for the undergraduate program is Korean.

Eligibility and Required Documents:
- The applicant must be Tibetan refugee holding a Green Book (GB) with contributions made until 2024. Form A must be duly filled and attested by the local Tibetan Settlement Officer.
- The applicant must have secured a minimum aggregate of 70% in Class XII and must have graduated in 2024 or 2025.
- The applicant must possess a valid Registration Certificate (RC) and a valid Certificate of Identity (COI)/Identity Certificate (IC).
- It is the responsibility of the candidates to produce a valid IC/ COI by July 2025.
- Applicants are required to compile the following documents into a single PDF in the specified order:
- Resume with passport-sized photo (One page).
- An essay of 400 to 500 words (A4 size – typed) on the topic: “Why you are applying for this scholarship?
Selection Procedure:
After the application deadline, the selection process will consist of the following:
- A general written test in Tibetan and English, to be held in June 2025 at the respective Tibetan Settlement Offices. This test will account for 50% of the final score—25% from the Tibetan section and 25% from the English section.
- Followed by an online interview, which will carry the remaining 50% of the total marks.
