Kasurs and former MPs have to Confirm Attendance at

Dharamshala: The former members of the Kashag
(Kasurs) and members of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile have to confirm their
attendance during the special meeting in November, the Tibetan Parliamentary
Secretariat said in an announcement issued Monday.Each member has to
send a short written letter of confirmation to the Tibetan Parliamentary
Secretariat before 31 October 2008, the announcement noted. In an
earlier announcement issued on 3 October, the members of Parliament representing
the four schools of Tibetan Buddhism and Bon have been assigned the
responsibility to select their respective members who will participate in the
special meeting.The representatives from the Tibetan settlements, local
assemblies and Tibetan Freedom Movements have been directed to take collective
responsibilities to solicit suggestions and opinions from the Tibetan people and
submit a detailed report in writing at the meeting. Similarly,
representatives of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, members from the Tibetan
schools, four schools of Tibetan Buddhism and Bon, and autonomous institutions
and overseas Tibetan associations have been asked to gather opinion from the
people under their respective jurisdictions.Voluntary participants (25
from India, Nepal and Bhutan. Not exceeding 25 from other countries) taking
interest and responsibility in participating in Tibet related activities, must
send their brief bio data and email address before 20 October. Accordingly, the
Parliamentary secretariat will send a notification to each applicant.The
participants have to report to the Parliamentary secretariat before 16
November.The Kasurs and former MPs have to bear their own travel
expenses during the meeting. Requests from the former members of the Kashag and
MPs facing financial constraints to pay the travel expenses would be given
consideration. The accounts of other members have to be settled with their
respective offices, organizations or associations.The Kasur, MPs and the
representatives from overseas Tibetan associations have to pay for their daily
expenses including food and lodging. Likewise, other members attending the
meeting have to arrange their rooms on their own.
