Kamrao, 12 November 2025: To honour His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday and the Year of Compassion, the Kamrao Gapa Tibetan Settlement organised a life‑release initiative.

On Lhakar (White Wednesday), the community released 555 fish into the Kulhal River, purchased from a nearby market in Paonta. Guided by Settlement Officer Urgen Choedon Oshoe, the event expressed His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s teachings of peace, nonviolence, and compassion.

The act of freeing the fish symbolised kindness toward all beings and prayers for His Holiness’ long life. It also encouraged communities worldwide to take part in compassionate and environmentally harmonious actions during this year‑long celebration.
