Kalon Tripa Wishes Wen a Successful India Visit
Dharamsala 8 April 2005: The Kalon Tripa of the Central Tibetan Administration said that he looks forward to the visit tomorrow of the Chinese premier Wen Jia Bao to India. “I hope the Chinese premier’s visit to India turns out to be a success”.

Kalon Tripa said it is the first visit of a Chinese premier since the so-called fourth generation leadership came to power in China.
The Kalon Tripa who has just finished a three-day meeting of task force for negotiation here was speaking to the ANI.
Kalon Tripa said that peace and stability in the Southeast Asia will affect the Tibetan efforts of negotiation with China positively.
Kalon Tripa said that there are no plans to meet the Chinese premier as the purpose of premier Wen’s visit are different but that he wishes the premier a successful visit.
When asked about his reaction to the reported plans of protests by Tibetan Youth Congress in the Delhi and Bangalore, the Kalon Tripa said that India is a free country and that the Central Tibetan Administration can not stop anyone.
Kalon Tripa said that his administration, however, has earlier appealed to the Tibetans all over the world to refrain from indulging in aggressive demonstrations. “It will cause embarrassment to the host nation and also to the visiting Chinese premier”. However, Rinpoche said that everyone has the right to express grievances but that there are other ways and channels for doing it.
The Kalon Tripa leaves for Delhi and Bhandara later today.
