Kalon Tripa to visit Finland and Germany

Dharamshala: Kalon Tripa will tomorrow leave for a week-long tour of Finland and Germany.
Kalon Tripa will attend European Congress and Centenary of Finnish Section organized by the European Federation of the Theosophical Society and hosted by its Finnish Section at Helsinki from 14-18 July.
The theme of the event is Compassion – The Basis for Peace and Understanding.
Kalon Tripa is expected to deliver a minimum of two lectures, including the centenary lecture on Importance of Religious Traditions and Their Harmony in the 21st Century.
In the second leg of this tour, Kalon Tripa will address the 1st International Congress on Buddhist Women’s Role in the Sangha – Bhikshuni Vinaya and Ordination Lineages, organized in Hamburg, Germany, from 18-20 July.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama is expected to deliver the concluding speech to the event organized by Asia-Africa Institute of Hamburg University and the Foundation of Buddhist Studies.
His Holiness will also speak on Human Rights and the Status of Women and join a panel discussion with leading Buddhist monks, nuns and scholars on the Revival of Bhikshuni Precepts in Tibetan Buddhism.
After returning to India on 22 July, Kalon Tripa will visit Dehra Dun, where on 23 July he will flag off Pathankot Prasthan Ashram’s annual padh yatra for advocating the Gandhian values.
