Kalon Tripa to chief guest Sonbhadra Ashram’s founding anniversary

Dharamshala: On 7 November, Kalon Tripa Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche will be the chief guest at a function celebrating the 50th founding anniversary of the Sonbhadra Banwasi Seva Ashram.
Set up in 1954, the Ashram is an example of a Gandhian voluntary organisation. It practices Gandhi’s maxim that self-sufficiency of villages is vital for the country’s development.
Kalon Tripa left this morning for official visits to Varanasi and Sonbhadra in Uttar Pradesh state of India.
Kalon Tripa will speak to the students of the Central Institute for Higher Tibetan Studies in Varanasi on 4 and 5 November.
The next day Kalon Tripa will give the closing address to the Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth International Congress on Religion and Modern Civilisation at the Kashi University in Varanasi.
Kalon Tripa will be back on 9 November.
