Kalon Tripa will deliver a keynote address at the inaugural day of the first Europe Tibet Congress to be convene in Basel, Switzerland, from 11-12 October. The initial plan was to invite His Holiness the Dalai Lama to inaugurate the Congress, but His Holiness had to cancel the visit due to slight indisposition.The Congress will provide a platform for Tibetans living in Europe to discuss political responsibilities and challenges, as well as how Tibetan religion and culture can be preserved and practiced in Exile in Europe among the Tibetans.At the invitation of California State Polytechnic University based in Pomona in California, Kalon Tripa will attend a three-day “International Conference on Mahatma Gandhi” from 17 – 19 October. He will deliver an inaugural address on “Hind Swaraj: Its Relevance in Today’s World”.During his visit to Santa Barbara, CA, Kalon Tripa will give a talk on “Future of Tibet” at the request of the Department of Buddhist Studies, University of California, on 20 October.He is invited as the chief guest to inaugurate the annual congress of the Spain-based Gnostic Association for Anthropological, Cultural and Scientific Studies, in New Delhi on 25 October. He will deliver a keynote address on “Culture and Spirituality in Tibet”.He will return to Dharamshala on 26 October.
