Dharamshala: Those who support the cause of Tibet are neither anti-China nor pro-Tibet. They support the justice and truth”, said Prof. Samdong Rinpoche, Kalon Tripa of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), this morning at a week-long workshop to more than 100 Tibetan students from various schools in India.

“The nature of our conflict is neither that of a political struggle nor a conflict of nationalities, but it is a conflict between truth and untruth, justice and injustice”, he added.
Speaking on the policies of the CTA, Kalon Tripa said that the CTA is committed to truth, non-violence and genuine democracy. All seven departments of the CTA carry out their respective work on these basis.
Besides Kalon Tripa also mentioned that the Kashag, highest executive body of the CTA, works mainly under the guidance of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and then the Assembly of the Tibetan People’s Deputies (ATPD).
He also explained the reason of giving priority to the guidance of His Holiness to that of the ATPD. He said that His Holiness the Dalai Lama is the sole and legitimate representative of Tibetans both in and outside Tibet whereas the ATPD and the Kashag are elected by the Tibetans in exile only.
After the talk, the floor opened for questions and answers series during which the participants asked about the recent crackdown on Drepung Monastery in Lhasa, new education policy adopted by the Kashag, Sino-Tibetan dialogue, etc.
