Brussels: Kalon Tripa, Dr Lobsang Sangay, met with MEP Joseph Daul, the Chair of the European People’s Party (EPP), the largest political group of the European Parliament.

Earlier in the morning Dr Sangay was received at the Brussels Press Club by its President Mr Thomas A. Friedrich for a 45 minutes press conference, where he briefed the journalists present on the democratic transition of the Central Tibetan Administration, recent wave of self-immolation inside Tibet and in the exile community and the investment the Tibetan movement has made on non-violence and democracy. The briefing was followed by a question and answer round.

Kalon Tripa was also interviewed by journalists of leading European dailies such as La libre Belgique, NRC Handelsblaad, EU Observer etc.  

Dr Sangay also met with a group of senior research fellows from the Brussels based think-tank, European Institute for Asian Studies (EIAS) for a very candid exchange of views both on the current and historical aspect of Tibet.
