Kalon Tripa Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche today launched the 100th book
publication of Kirti Monastery in Dharamsala at a function organised by
the Monastery. While releasing the book Kalon Tripa remembered the
Tibetans in Kyigudo hit by massive earthquake on Wednesday.In commemoration of the 50 years in exile the Institute launched ‘Sumchupai Thachoe Chenmo Gyalwa Gyepai Choetin’
– a book on Tibetan grammar by the Chief Guest Kalon Tripa, and a book
on human rights violation in Tibet since 1935-2009, entitled ‘Mi thok sum gi ma-kha’ by the Special Guest, Mr. Penpa Tsering, Speaker, Tibetan Parliament-in-exile. Ven
Dhongri Sherab, Principal of the Institute, in his introductory note
said that Kirti Monastery has published more than a hundred books on
Tibet and Tibetan studies between 1992 to 2009. 73 books were written
by the Kirti Monastery monks and 27 by other experts. The books are on
Tibetan grammar, series of compositions, on His Eminence Kirti Rinpoche
and his teachings. All the published books were on display as well. Speaker
Penpa Tsering, in his address, expressed condolences to the victims of
earthquake in Tibet and thanked Kirti Monastery for its sincere
contribution not only in the religious field but also for the Tibetan
cause.

Kalon
Tripa Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche said that about one lakh Tibetan people
have been affected by the recent quake. He recalled the condolence
messages of His Holiness the Dalai Lama as well as that of the Kashag.
He informed the gathering of the prayer sessions conducted by Tibetans
in exile in memory of those who have lost their lives and for quick
recovery of those injured.Kalon Tripa strongly urged the
People’s Republic of China to do its best to reduce the sufferings of
quake hit Tibetan people by providing quick and meaningful relief. Kalon
Tripa, on behalf of the Kashag and as well as on his own behalf,
expressed deep gratitude to His Eminence Kirti Rinpoche, the staff and
Sangha of Kirti Monastery for their valuable contribution in
preservation of Tibetan culture and religion.The Monastery is
also holding a two days programme on academic conference on Tibetan
studies from 17 -18 April in the monastery.
