Dharamshala: Kalon Tripa Prof Samdhong Rinpoche today congratulated Senator Barack Obama for his historic win to the post of President of United States.
“The election of Senator Barack Obama to the President of the United States is a victory for America as well as for the world. Senator Barack Obama’s victory is a sign of America’s tremendous resilience. It sends a message of hope and renewal to millions across the world, who strive for peace, stable and balanced development,” Kalon Tripa Prof Samdhong Rinpoche said in his message.
“Senator Barack Obama’s election to the President of the United States reflects the strength of American democracy.”“The prayers of the Tibetan people are with President-elect as he confronts the abiding issues of war and peace. My own prayers are with the President-elect in his efforts to make America and the world a better and happier place.”Professor Samdhong Rinpoche himself was democratically elected by the exile Tibetan populace to the post of Kalon Tripa, the highest executive authority of the Central Tibetan Administration, in 2001.
