Dharamshala: Kalon ( Minister) Tharlam Dolma Changra from the Department of Education visited the Upper Tibetan Children’s Village (TCV) School on 29th April 2024 as a part of the school inspection programme.
Upon arrival, the Kalon was warmly received by the President of TCV, Sonam Sichoe, General Secretary Choenyi Dhondup, Education Director Tenzin Tsenlek, Director Tsultrim Dorjee, Principal Ngawang Lhamo, and the students.
Education Kalon conducted an extensive inspection of the school’s facilities, including the Culture Centre, Education Development Resource Centre (EDRC), hostels, homes, Library, and the classrooms of Junior and senior sections.
Apart from the assessments, Kalon Tharlam Dolma met and interacted with the students and teachers separately in the Dekyi Tsering School hall, sharing valuable insights and actively participating in hearings of the critical concerns and queries addressed.
In her address to the students, Education Kalon underlined the significance of not just academic achievement but also the nurturing of ethical values, personal growth, and preservation of the Tibetan language. She further encouraged students to aim for success in all aspects of their lives and shed light on the profound impact that education can have on shaping individuals and communities.
Later in the afternoon, Kalon shared her insights on enhancing the quality of education in an interactive session with the staff and teachers.
School’s Director Tsultrim Dorjee expressed his sincere gratitude to Kalon on behalf of the school for visiting and sharing enlightening insights with the students and teachers.
