Dharamshala: Kalon (Minister) Norzin Dolma of the CTA who is currently embarking on a four-day official tour of Belgium and Paris met with various government officials and notable Tibet supporters. Kalon held a series of meetings with them focusing on Tibet including the concerns and priorities of the Central Tibetan Administration.
On 12th December, Kalon arrived at the Belgium Airport and was received by Representative Genkhang Rigzin Choedon led staff of the Office of Tibet and the representatives from various Tibetan Community Associations in Belgium comprising Utsang Association, Chushi-Gangdruk Association, Domey Association, Regional Tibetan Youth Congress and Regional Tibetan Women’s Association. The Tibetan associations co-hosted a dinner reception to honour the visit of Kalon Norzin Dolma later that evening.
On the morning of 13 December, Kalon Norzin Dolma met with Els Van Hoof, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Belgian Federal Parliament to pay her courtesy call to Van Hoof’s stand for Tibet and her condemnation of the forced assimilation of Tibetan children in Chinese state-run boarding schools.
In the afternoon, Kalon had a meeting with some Belgian government officials before departing for Paris. Throughout her official engagements in Belgium, Kalon was accompanied by Representative Genkhang Rigzin Choedon and Secretary Thinley Wangdue of The Office of Tibet, Brussels.
In the evening, Kalon Norzin Dolma accompanied by Representative Genkhang departed for Paris where they were received by Parliamentarian Thubten Gyatso, Coordinator Thupten Tsering of Bureau du Tibet, and representatives from various Tibetan Community Associations.
In Paris, Kalon is set to meet with members of the Tibet group in the French Senate for a meeting and a meeting with Jean-Luc Romero, Deputy Mayor of Paris.
